From Dysfunction to Function:

The Key to Improving Organizational Efficiency

The Cost of Inefficiency: Why Your Hard Work May Not Be Enough

As an organizational leader, how much time do you spend troubleshooting issues that result from a lack of processes, or a disconnect between your systems and processes? If you improve organizational efficiency, you could be focusing on strategic initiatives that will advance your organization’s mission and improve your member, volunteer and donor experiences – and your bottom line too.

  • Is your already bare-bones, overworked staff struggling with efficiency and lack of productivity?
  • Does the lack of efficiency cause to critical tasks to fall through the cracks? Does that reflect poorly on your organization in the eyes of stakeholders, donors, members, and partners?
  • Is your list of excited and energetic volunteers diminishing because you don’t have an engaging and functional volunteer onboarding process? Does the same hold true for your new members?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you are not alone. What if instead you could:

  • Have streamlined processes in which roles and responsibilities are defined, improving the overall dynamics of your organization because your staff is no longer overworked and frustrated by lack of clarity.
  • Utilize all the features of your member or donor-management system saving time and money by having streamlined automations and workflows for key programs.

Suddenly, your rock star staff and volunteers are no longer working twice as hard to keep things afloat. Everyone is more productive and strategic mission-related initiatives are moving forward.

When processes are unclear, roles and responsibilities are muddled, systems do not talk to each other OR are not automated for organizational efficiency….your staff (already wearing 1000 hats) are working twice as hard to keep things afloat.

Instead of channeling their time and energy into productive, mission-oriented work, they must navigate chaos…duplicate efforts and put out the inevitable resulting fires. Addressing this dysfunction is crucial to unlocking your organization’s potential and creating processes and workflows where the hard work leads to results, not more ineffective effort.

It is a lot of work working in a dysfunctional organization, but it doesn’t have to be.

A Proven Process for Improving Organizational Efficiency

Our proprietary IMPACT™ method is a comprehensive, structured approach designed to help nonprofit organizations and trade associations optimize their internal systems and processes and enhance organizational efficiency.

INVESTIGATE

We begin by investigating your organization’s current systems and workflows through meetings and interviews. The goal is to deeply understand what’s working, what’s not, and why.

MAP

Next, we map out your current systems and processes, visualizing inefficiencies and highlighting key areas for improving organizational efficiency, such as potential automations, unused software features, or just more streamlined ways to get things done.

PRIORITIZE

We work closely with leadership to prioritize key improvements, creating a strategic plan that ensures the most impactful changes are addressed first.

ACT

During this phase, we act on the plan by implementing the optimized workflows across the organization, ensuring a smooth adoption by your team.

CODIFY

Once the new workflows are in place, we codify them by creating detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and scalability.

TRAIN

Finally, we train your staff with walkthroughs, hands-on guidance, and troubleshooting videos to help them confidently navigate the new processes.
